Ivorian singer Alpha Blondy and his band The Solar System is regarded as one of the best live acts in the world of Reggae.
Blondy, also referred to as 'The African Bob Marley', broke through with his debut album Jah Glory in 1982 and since then has never left the international stage.
He is also a staunch supporter of African unity, religious tolerance and world peace and to this end is known to sing to Muslim audiences in Hebrew and in Arabic to Israelis. Some of his best-known songs include "Cocody Rock," "Jerusalem," and "Apartheid Is Nazism."
Alpha is celebrating 40-years in the music business.

Together with his large band the Solar System, Alpha Blondy is the face of African Reggae, which he influenced crucially for the last two decades.
As a strong supporter of his continent's Unity Movement his lyrics aren't only about Africa's social and political problems, but also about religious topics - authentic and detached from confessional demands.
