Black Power Band performing Imisango Yaba Chairman.
In the 1970s and 80s, a ward chairman wielded a lot of power in urban communities in the days of Kenneth Kaunda's one party UNIP rule. They could grab other people's wives, steal their poultry and do all sorts of corrupt activities at will.
This is the theme that inspired Max Mwansa to write the evergreen ''Imisango Yaba Chairman'' which apart from being a smash hit, raised controversy in political circles.
