Mali Ends its Military Training Mission with the European Union | Firstpost Africa

The rift between Africa's junta-led states and the West is widening. In the latest, Mali has ended its 11-year military training mission with the EU. The bloc has cited deteriorating ties with Mali's military junta as one of the reasons to withdraw its military training mission. The European Union mission trained Malian armed forces and members of the G5 Sahel. Mali has been under military rule since August 2020. The junta-led states have also distanced themselves from former colonial rules France, kicking out its troops. The West blames the tensions on Russia. Military-ruled states in West Africa are turning towards Moscow as an economic and security partner. Watch this video for details.
