The Washington Commanders took advantage of the second pick in the NFL Draft to select a legitimate franchise quarterback in Jayden Daniels, following the Chicago Bears' No. 1 pick selection of Washington D.C. native and Gonzaga College High School quarterback Caleb Williams.

Daniels, an agile quarterback who is a threat running with the ball, won the Heisman Trophy as the signal-caller for LSU.
